While you can over-ride the system and select the text file type during the import process, this is no longer necessary (version 9.41.0 and later).

The system will automatically determine between the following text file types:

--text, comma delimited (csv, comma separated values)

--text, tab delimited

--text, fixed width

 

Note: When automating an import, make sure that the extension of the file name always reflects the nature of the file.  Comma delimited files (csv), should always contain the extension of csv when automating the import process.
