The ABA Routing Number Directory can be:

How to use the file if you are validating ABA Numbers.
The first field is your key field. If you don't have a match, you have an incorrect ABA number.
Once you have a match, confirm that the Record Type is 1 (ABA Status - Normal). If it has a value of 2, then the number has been updated (ABA Status - Use New Routing Number) - and the new value will be in the 'New ABA Number'. See example below.
Here we can see that ABA number 071916916 has been changed to 041200555. This is based on the information that the Record Type is a '2' (Use New Routing Number).
