Supported Client Operating Systems (see below if using a server)
Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit)
Windows 11
Please note that while our software was designed to run on earlier versions of Microsoft Windows - these retired operating systems no longer receive Windows Updates and may no longer be fully compatible.
Hard Disk Space - Min 160 MB available disk space (135 MB for program and support files, the balance for a typical database volume)
Database size (Desktop)
The database starts at 5 MB and will increase approximately 50 MB in size per 100,000 records. Please use these benchmarks in conjunction with your estimated volume of records to properly allocate disk space. Each account is maintained as a separate database.
SQL Server
Treasury Software supports all current versions of Microsoft SQL Server.
Versions that are past end of life cannot be supported.
Supported Windows Servers
Treasury Software supports all current versions of Microsoft Windows Server.
Versions that are past end of life cannot be supported.
Hardware requirements (minimum):
See the Microsoft SQL Server web site. As long as Microsoft's minimum requirements are met.
Database size (SQL)
Disk Space - Per account - the system will create a database less than 10 MB in size. The SQL database will increase approximately 0.3 GB in size (including log files) per 100,000 records. Please use these benchmarks in conjunction with your estimated volume of records to properly allocate disk space. Each account is maintained as a separate database on the SQL server.
Does Treasury Software install software (exe, dll's, ocx's) on the SQL Server?
No. Treasury Software only creates database objects on the SQL Server. No software is installed on the server.
Do I need a stand-alone SQL Server, or can I use an existing SQL Server?
You can use an existing SQL Server, as long as you have sufficient load capacity.
Can I use SQL Server within a virtual environment?
Theoretically, but you will need a multi-user platform license from Treasury Software, such as the SQL Express or SQL Server license. We can support environments when Treasury Software and SQL Server are placed on the same virtual machine, otherwise connectivity may be an issue. Please see virtual environments notes below.
Please note that with any virtualization, compatibility cannot be 100% guaranteed.
Can I use a Mac / OSX?
Theoretically, as long as you have an emulation / virtualization package such as VMware, to run Treasury Software. You can perform QuickBooks, Excel and csv file imports, as long as the source files are located within the virtualization.
Please note that with any virtualization, compatibility cannot be 100% guaranteed.
Can I use SQL Server over a Wide Area Network (WAN)?
Technically yes, but the latency issues on a typical WAN will likely be significant when Treasury Software and the SQL Server are separated over a WAN. We always recommend that the software and the SQL Server be situated on the same local network.
On remote scenarios - we highly recommend Remote Desktop Services, or in multi-user environments, a Citrix (or similar) product. See below for more information on Citrix.
Treasury Software can be installed on a Microsoft Windows Server for Remote Desktop Services and on a Citrix XenApp server.
For sizing and system requirements/recommendations for Treasury Software, use the same allocation of resources that you would for the current version of Microsoft Office.
Please remember that this feature requires a Treasury Software compatible license (either SQL Express or SQL Server).
Treasury Software supports all the supported versions of QuickBooks that is currently supported by Intuit.
See the QuickBooks System Requirements page by clicking here.
Advanced integration available with: 32 bit and 64 bit QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise (that are current, and supported by Intuit), as well as QuickBooks Online (US - English).
Standard integration available with: All other versions of QuickBooks and non-US products.
Please note that QuickBooks Self Employed Edition (QBSE) is not the same as QuickBooks Online. Treasury Software does not support advanced integration with QBSE.
Yes, our software can be installed on a remotely hosted environment.
Remember: If you are integrating with QuickBooks, Treasury Software needs to be installed on the same virtual machine.
Yes, we've tested with several platforms including Hyper-V, VMware and Virtual PC, but not all environments may be supported - especially hosting a Windows VM on a non-Windows Host (Mac).
Please note that with any virtualization, compatibility cannot be 100% guaranteed.
The following files need to be located on the same virtual machine as Treasury Software:
--If using our desktop platform, the database (brd files)
--If using ACH Universal or Bank Positive Pay, the transmission file created
VMware - we support version 6.5 and later.
Note: Task Scheduler in a virtual environment is not a recommended scenario for production activities.
Our software can integrate with various email platforms, including Microsoft Outlook (that are currently supported by Microsoft).
