Updating your software
This help page covers service pack updates.
Throughout the year, Treasury Software programs new features, cosmetic changes, etc... to the software. Each time the software is updated - a service pack is made available to our current users.
Service packs are not required. Most users do not need to upgrade, unless there is a feature that was not available when they installed or there is an issue with their build that needs to be addressed.
Installing a Service Pack
1. Automatic
Simply click on Help > Updates Group > Software button
The process will be fully automatic and will close and then re-open your software.
Upon re-starting the software, you should now be in the current build.
If the process does not complete, see the next option.
2. Manual - Software driven
Click on Help > Updates Group > Software button bottom half > Manual Update
This will open the Service Pack updates form.
1. Click on the blue hyperlink to download the service pack. Note the location where you are saving it to.
2. Use the browse button to select the location as to where you saved the service pack in the previous step.
3. Click Update Service Pack.
The process will close and then re-open your software.
Upon re-starting the software, you should now be in the current build.
If the process does not complete, see the next option.
3. Manual - Advanced (Servers)
While it is rare that you would need to perform this process, it would only be required when attempting to upgrade on a Server Operating System (not a desktop). The reason is that your corporate security settings may be blocking (protecting) the files already in place.
The example below uses the build 2013.0.1 as an example. Of course, your build may be different.
a. Download the zip file from the Manual - Software driven process above, if you have not done so already (ie updates_201301.zip).
b. Extract the 6 files from the zip file. The files will look similar to:
c. Rename each file to remove the version appendix, so that the finished result looks like:
d. Backup
Locate where Treasury Software has been installed. The default location for 2013.0.1 would be
C:\Program Files (x86)\Treasury Software\version 2013 01\
Backup the 6 files located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Treasury Software\version 2013 01\ to another folder.
e. Copy the files
Copy the 6 files noted in the step above to C:\Program Files (x86)\Treasury Software\version 2013 01\.
If you are a desktop user - congratulations, you are all done.
f. SQL Express and SQL Server users - Complete the update
Start the software and enter into an account.
From the Ribbon Bar select Settings > Maintenance
Then select SQL > Stored Procedures > Service Pack Update
Notes:
--As this is updated at the server - you only need to do this once (not at every workstation).
--*****Repeat this (click 'Service Pack Updates') for every account*****
Congratulations - you are all done.
